What's New Tuesday ?
Hi Cindy and my OFF family:
It's cccccold here and windy. There were winter storm warnings and blizzard-like weather forecast, but there's no snow and instead just very cold weather and high winds. I am actually going to get out of my jammies today and put on my sweats ... big trip out to the mailbox in my car since it's not snowing. First time driving.
I slept fairly well last night. New plan of action: Rubbed IcyHot PM cream on the side of my knee that's very tender (this was something the physical therapist and I talked about yesterday) and it seemed to help. The area isn't quite as hard as it was yesterday. It worked better than using an ice pack on it and really helped me sleep a lot better. I only needed the one vicodin to get me to sleep. So now I can hopefully do my PT exercises today (which I didn't do much yesterday because I was in too much pain).
Thanks for all your messages about Diva; I know she will be well-cared for at Reuben's Room cat rescue. Jeanine's a wonderful person and takes good care of all the cats.
Tried a new protein powder this morning: Click espresso protein drink. It's OK, but won't buy it again. It's supposed to be as good as AchievOne, but it's not really. For one, the protein level is just 15 grams, whereas AchievOne has 20; calorie count is the same, but the sugars are higher because the second ingredient in Click is fructose (luckily, I don't dump on sugar). It's not horribly high, but still ... Plus, I thought it was going to be just coffee flavored; it also has cocoa powder in it. Oh well ... I'll use it; it's also kinda bitter; I added some Splenda to it and it was better. It's what I'll have to use for awhile. Still searching for another coffee-flavored protein powder; have a couple in mind that I may try. I have this other one here at home yet that isn't bad, but then again, it's a mocha flavored and I'd rather just have the coffee flavored. If I could bake, I'd make my almond breakfast cookies, but I can't stand that long in the kitchen (and I have galley kitchen ... no place to sit and work). Oh well, I'll make this work. I just need something simple to make and grab for breakfast because I hate making breakfast.
George, I hope all goes well at the oncologist; what are you seeing him/her for? It sounds serious; oncologist always does.
Cindy, I was never a fan of yogurt because I always thought it was too sweet and not enough protein. About the only kind I liked was vanilla Yoplait light. And even that wasn't great.
Well, I should go do my exercises. Have a good day.

Good morning Cindy and everyone.......
What a cold, cold day today...... -20 degrees right now!! I haven't heard what the wind chill is but it must be awful!! Temps are supposed to drop the rest of the week....oh my!!!
Wish I could go kitty sit for Maui Karen!
George...I wish you the best at your oncology appointment. I didn't know you had a problem in that area. Let us know how it turns out.
Carla...prays continue for you my dear!
As for me...other then freezing....I am doing okay. Feeling very scared and concerned about how this New York trip for Nic will turn out.
I have two meetings this afternoon....sure wish I didn't have to leave the house. If the meetings weren't important I wouldn't go at all.
Thats about it....boring I know. Have a good day everyone.
Prayers to those in need.
Love and hugs to all....connie d

Good Morning everyone
It is actually still morning and I am posting. Thought I was doing good but there are 20 postings already.
I was getting ready for my riding lesson but my coach called and postponed until tomorrow so I have more time to get organized around here before leaving for the gym.
I had my second meeting with hypnotist yesterday. He meets with you two times and then gives you a tape. I find that the grazing and head hunger is easier to control. I had no cravings Monday through Thursday but a few over the week-end. Yesterday after our session I seemed back on track. I listened to the 20 minute tape before getting out of bed this morning and will do this everyday. Of course that is a side issue. I went to him to get help sleeping. I didn't have much luck last week with that issue. In fact I only slept 2 hours Saturday night. Before yesterday's appointment I went to Best Buy for a portable CD player so I would be able to listen to the tape. I looked around for a CD that might be restful. I found one designed to help you sleep. It supposedly uses some type of sleep research that gets us to sleep. Armed with my Cd player, my sleep CD and a couple of Michael Buble( Boo-Blay) CDs I went to my appointment. Last night I went to bed wearing the earpones and listening to the sleep CD. There is flute and piano that is audible. There are no subliminal messages. The second time I played it I could descern some other sounds like pinging in clusters. Don't know what that was. Anywhoo the Dr. yesterday concentrated on the sleep issue with just a little time spent on the eating issues.
I don't know if it was the hypnosis, the tape, or a combination of both; but I had some success. I read until 11:00pm then plugged in the tape. I fell asleep but woke up around 2:00am. Got up did the potty thing then went back to bed and replayed the CD. Slept util 6:30 when nature again required a potty break. Went back to bed and listened to the Hypnotist tape (20 min) decided to stay in bed but 15 minutes later my body said get up so I did. I actually felt pretty good. I was supposed to ride at 10.00 this morning so I took my bath then went to the kitchen and started a pot of soup. I made meatballs out of lean gr. beef and browned them. Then I sauted onions in a dab of olive oil. I then added a little water to deglaze the pan. A little tomato paste and some canned veggies from the pantry was added next. I also discovered some Italian style vegetable soup that has 0 weigh****cher points in the pantry and addid a can of that. It is simering away on the stove and that will be my lunch. In the middle of that my coach called and had to postpone my lesson until tomorrow. So now I am on the puter. I hope I will sleep well tonight and maybe if this tape thing works I'll get my body back into a more normal rythym.
Guess I have rambled enough but I will leave y'all with a joke I heard yesterday.
A monk was asked to copy the Bible by hand from a copy in the monastery. He complied but before long questioned the wisdom of this. He told his superior that if there was a mistake in the copy he was using then his new copy would also be erroneous. His superior thought a minute and decided he had a point. He went into the archives and was gone quite awhile. A little while later he could be heard wailing. The monk went to investigate and found his superior with the original text lamenting.... it says celeBRATE ! !

Do you know the difference between a zoo in Louisiana and a zoo anywhere else? The zoos everywhere else have signs on the cages giving information about the animal on display. The zoos in Louisiana have two signs. One to describe the animal and a second for the recipie.
